Government of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh
I am delighted to know that Animal Health Companies
Association of Bangladesh (AHCAB) is holding the 4th International Exhibition
& Seminar on Dairy, Aqua and Pet-2018 (IEDAP-2018) at Bangabandhu International
Conference Centre (BICC), Dhaka from 8-10 March, 201-8.
Both Dairy and Aqua farming showing much potential to
develop as a commercial sector with employment and income generating
opportunities both ln the rural and urban areas. Tens of thousands of very poor
rural households have moved out of poverty as a result of the successful
introduction of the holistic smallholder dairying models. Many families have
now own cows and have intensified and commercialized their milk production.
The policies proposed in the draft National Livestock Policy
(2006) and the National Strategy of Accelerated Poverty Reduction (2005)
recognize that milk produced at the community level by smallholder households
can play a significant role in improving nutrition, incomes and jobs. lt is
clear that a more detailed, long-term dairy development strategy is needed to
translate those policies into a national dairy programme. I believe that Animal
Health Companies Association of Bangladesh (AHCAB) through organizing the
International Exhibition on Dairy, Aqua and pet (IEDAP) will accelerate the
policy makers to do the policies soonest possible. L also hope and expect That,
AHCAB will be more attentive to provide quality drugs with affordable price for
the Farmers and to discourage unnecessary use of Antibiotics.
The three-day’s long show and seminar will provide an
excellent opportunity for farmers, entrepreneurs, scientists and educationists
to interact and share their knowledge with their multinational counterparts on
latest development of dairy and aqua science and technology.
