Congratulations to Animal Health Companies Association of Bangladesh (AHCAB) as they are keeping continuity of International Exhibition on Dairy, Aqua and Pet Animal accordingly the association is going to hold the 4th IEDAP-2018 at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC), Dhaka from 8-10 March, 2018.

The Dairy and Aqua sector, being one of the highest employment generating sectors in the country, is not only boosting up the economic development and poverty alleviation of the nation but also playing a vital role in supplying animal protein to the food pail of Bangladesh.

Current status of Dairy Industry in Bangladesh is encouraging and also has colossal opportunity to grow a lot in near future. Present Government of Bangladesh has taken lots of initiative to grow dairy industry furthermore. Recently Bangladesh Bank has launched low-cost loans for dairy farmers, aiming to boost up local dairy production and help cutting the country's dependency on imported milk. We are trying to increase the amount of loan which will bene?t the farmers more.

In last 3-4 years, our beef fattening and dairy sectors playing an important role by supplying Qurbani cattle. This is one of the great achievements for our farmers.

In last 3-4 years, our dairy sector is playing an important role during Eid-ul-Adha by supplying suf?cient amount of cattle for the holy Qurbani. This is one of the great achievement for our farmers.

The Government has already ensured food security for all by boosting food production, and now the aim is to ensure proper nutrition by eliminating malnutrition and we have been working on that. With the help of Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, Bangladesh produced 71.54 lakh metric ton meat, 92.83 lakh metric ton milk in ?scal 2016-17, which is up 14.3 percent year on year.

Aqua sector is also playing pivotal role in national economy specially earning signi?cant amount of foreign currency from shrimp export. Bangladesh is now the ?fth major ?sh producing country in the world as it has raised production from 7.5 lakh metric ton to 41.34 lakh metric ton in last three decades. Steady growth in inland ?sh production from aquaculture helped Bangladesh achieve the feat.

I congratulate the organizers and the participating organizations from home and abroad and wish the 4th International Exhibition & Seminar of Dairy, Aqua and Pet-2018 (lEDAP-20l8) an outstanding success.
